Group of Six: 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45; Australian Service Medal 1945-1975, - clasp - PNG (this with lot but not fitted). NX37587 R.Macalpine. All medals pantographed. Extremely fine - uncirculated.

Together with case for Australian Service Medal 1945-1975 and miniature medal with PNG clasp as well as full-size PNG clasp (The case with foxing on lining.^Roy Macalpine, truck driver, age 19, born at Botany, Sydney, NSW; Enl.24Jun1941 at Martin Place, Sydney, NSW; served in Middle East 02Sep1941 to 25Mar1942 (did not qualify for Africa Star), New Guinea (Bougainville) 22Jul1944 to 18Feb1945; Disch.05Apr1945 as trooper ex 2/8 Aust Commando Sqn; Died 21Jun2015 and buried at Palmdale Lawn Cemetery & Memorial Park, Palmdale, Central Coast Council, NSW; his tombstone is marked, 'A Hero To All Who Knew Him'.^Roy Macalpine's service medals were stolen during a break-in at his home in 1999. He then applied for replacement medals that were issued after they were suitably engraved. He was also advised that he was entitled to the Australian Service Medal 1945-75 with clasp PNG and this was also issued to him.
