Clodius Albinus, (195-197 A.D.), silver denarius, (2.85 g), Lugdunum Mint, 2nd emission, issued 196-197, obv. IMP CAE D CLO SEP ALB AVG, laureate head of Clodius Albinus to right, rev. FIDES LEGION COS II around, holding aquila, the eagle perched on a thunderbolt, held by clasped human hands, (S.6166, RIC 20b [Pl II , 19 [same obverse die as illustration], RSC 24, BMC 284, Pl.12, 16 [sae obverse die]). Extremely fine with a delightful grey patination, very rare.
