Marcus Aurelius, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 167-8, (3.42 g), obv. laureate head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around M ANTONINVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, rev. around TR P XXII IMP IV COS III, Providentia standing to left, holding sceptre and pointing with rod to a globe at her feet, (S.4935, RIC 176, RSC 890) (illustrated); another, (3.34 g), rev. Mars standing right, holding spear and shield on ground, (cf.S.4950, RIC 123, RSC 472); another, (3.24 g), rev. Aequitas standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae, (S.4934, RIC 171, RSC 882) (illustrated); another, (3.42 g), rev. Pax standing left, holding branch and cornucopiae.
