Marcus Aurelius, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 166, (3.14 g), obv. laureate head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around M ANTONINVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, rev. around TR P XX COS III, Pax standing left, holding branch and cornucopiae. PAX in exergue, (S.4915, RIC 145, RSC 434) (illustrated); another, (3.57 g), rev. around PIETAS AVG TR P XX COS III, Pietas standing left sacrificing out of patera over altar, (S.4918, BMC 397, RIC 148, RSC 463) (illustrated); another, (3.26 g), rev. Victory standing right, holding palm branch and placing shield inscribed VIC-PAR in two lines on palm tree, (S.4869, RIC 160, RSC 877); another, (3.49 g), rev. around FORT RED TR P XXII IMP V, COS III in exergue, Fortuna seated to left holding rudder and cornucopia, (cf.S.4900, RIC 185, C.208).
