Mysia, Pergamon, (104-98 B.C.), silver cistophoric tetradrachm, (12.55 g), obv. cista mystica containing serpent, all within ivy wreath, rev. bow in case between two coiled serpents, to left monogram of **PER*, above ME, to right serpent entwined thyrsus, (cf.S.3948, Carbone, Hidden Power, type XXXVIII [obv.116, rev. 258, p.62], No.16 [This Coin illustrated on plate 26], Kleiner [ANSMN 23], No.18, SNG Cop.422 [same obverse die]). Worn obverse die, very fine/good very fine and rare.
