Attica, Athens, silver tetradrachm, (125-124 B.C.) or revised date 93-92 B.C., (16.65 g), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasos, dotted border, rev. owl standing right, head facing on prostrate amphora, to right headress of Isis to left, **A QE across, across and left **DHME-AS*, to left EPMO, over **KLHS, LU/[EUP]EI*, below amphora **DH*, on amphora letter K, all within olive wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 1060c [same obverse die, possibly the same reverse die], HGC 4, 1602). Toned, good very fine, very rare symbol.

Ex Superior Stamp and Coin auction Sale, May 31, 1999 (lot 917). ^^Type represented in Thompson 'The New Style Coinage of Athens' cf.Thompson 1060. There is a difference of 32 years less between Thompson and the suggested revised chronology. This would make this issue 93-92 B.C.
