Boeotia, Haliartos, (C.400-375 B.C.), silver stater 20mm, (11.74 g), obv. Boeotian shield decorated with upward trident in centre, rev. Poseidon, naked, advancing right, extending right hand and brandishing trident in his left; ARI-AR-T-IO-N clockwise around from lower left; all within concave circle, (S.2415, BCD Boiotia 164 (same rev. die); Head, Boeotia p. 46, pl. IV, 3 = Imhoof-Blumer, M?nzkunde, 19, pl. IX, 3 (same rev. die); SNG Copenhagen ; BMC 11, pl. VII, 16 = Trait? III 296, pl. CCII, 33 (same rev. die); Gillet Collection photofile 899 = de Sartiges 244 (same rev. die, HGC 4, 1196 [R]). Good very fine, dark grey tone, irregular flan, areas of minor roughness, very rare.
