Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.17 g), Magnesia ad Maeandrum mint, issued c.319-305 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, A/T monogram under throne, **PA* monogram in left field, B to right, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price 1959, SNG Cop.965, BMC 1959a-b, M.784). Toned, nearly very fine.
