Italy, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.335-330 B.C.), silver stater or didrachm, (7.9 grams), obv. bearded Corinthian helmeted head of Leukippos to right, behind lion's head to right, trace of monogram under chin, rev. ear of corn, to right META, to left club erect over leaf, [A]MI below, (S.415, Johnston [NN&M 164] Class B, 2.10, SNG ANS 433). Attractive dark grey and blue tone, very fine and scarce.
