Germany, 19th century hunting knife with steel blade marked on the ricasso, 'Hubectus/Solingen/Made In/Germany', the blade is elaborately decorated with hunting scenes, with antler bone handle and very decorative guard featuring 'deer-foot' quillons and with extended plaque featuring a game fowl on a branch as well as a decorative pommel and on the handle is attached the initials DJV inside the antlers of a deer (DJV 'Deutsche Jagd Verband' [German Hunting Association]), the scabbard is leather with steel top and bottom, the bottom section engraved with a deer in the forest and the top has an acorn for the frog. Some oil stain marks on blade, otherwise very fine.
