Attica, Athens, (c.500/490-485/480 B.C.), silver quarter obol 5 mm, (0.15 g), obv. Helmeted head of Athena to right, the crest partially visible. rev. A**Q*E, Owl standing to right, head facing the viewer, to left, olive sprig, all within incuse square. (cf.S.1841, HGC 4, 1685 [R2], SNG Lockett 1833, cf.Svoronos, Tr£sor, pl. 2, 48). Toned, very fine and very rare, [none in Coin Archives].

One of the smallest Greek coins in antiquity, few seem to have survived.
