MID Group of Six: 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star; Defence medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45 with MID; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. NX34787 N.F.C.King. All medals impressed. Display mounted, the last ribbon damaged and the third medal with an oxidation spot, otherwise extremely fine.

Noel Frederick Charles King, electro plater, age 23, born at Redfern, Sydney, NSW; Enl.29Oct1931 as No. 2690 at Artillery Barracks, George's Heights, Mosman, Sydney, NSW in 1 Heavy Brigade, RAA; to L/Bdr 06Oct1935; to Bdr 30Nov1936; to L/Sgt 04Jul1938; to SSM 3rd Class and WOII 17Sep1938; released to join AIF as NX34787; to T/WOI 01Jul1940; to WOI 27Mar1942; to Capt 01Sep1942; to Major 15Jan1944; to T/Lt/Col 10Feb1949; to Major 01Jul1949; saw service in Middle East with 2/5 Field Regt and in 1944 served in New Guinea and Bougainville; while on duty in Bougainville Major King sustained a fractured pelvis when an Australian Military Vehicle, of which he was a passenger, collided with a USA vehicle; post war King remained in the Army and conducted a number of training courses; Disch.22Dec1957.
