Group of Eight: 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal 1935-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45: Efficiency Medal (Australia)(GVIR) - two clasps; Greece War Medal 1940-41. VX4315 Pte Ivey H.R. 2/5th Battalion A.I.F. on first and second medals, VX4315 Pte A.R.Ivey on third to sixth medals, VX4315 Pte A.R.Ivey A.I.F. on seventh medal. First two medals engraved (note initials are H.R. on these two), third to sixth medals impressed, seventh medal engraved, last unnamed. Court mounted for wear, nearly extremely fine.

Allan Richard Ivey, leather dresser, born 09Mar1914 in Bendigo, VIC; Enl. in the Militia 15Mar1932 and to 29/22nd Battalion East Melbourne, promoted Cpl 01Feb1936, to 29th Btn 01Aug1939. Enl. AIF 06Nov1939 in Fitzroy VIC; Emb. Melb 14Apr1940 with 2/5th Btn 7th Bgd 6th Div; Operations North Africa 13Sep1940 including advance on Bardia and Derna; Emb. for Greece 09Apr1941 but withdrawn from Crete due to heavy German land and air assaults; Emb. Suez for Ceylon 10Mar1942; RTA.11Jul1942; Operations in New Guinea as part of Kanga Force and later in Wewak campaign; RTA 20May1945; Disch. 07Nov1945. Ivey later served in Australian Citizen Military Forces with 6th Inf Btn Royal Melbourne Regiment.
Awarded Efficiency Medal and first clasp 06Nov1946 and second clasp on 11Dec1958.
