Elizabeth I, Dangers Averted Medal, 1590, oval 57 x 51 mms., silver, (85.2 grams), obv. facing bust of Queen Elizabeth crowned wearing a large ruff, holding orb and sceptre, surrounded by legend, re. central bay tree on island surrounded by rough seas with legend below, (MI i, 154/130; MH 1919, 19 similar; Eimer 62 similar; BBM 1988, 2). A superb example, extremely fine and extremely rare.
