L. Calpurnius Piso Frugi, (c.67 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (3.80 g), obv. head of Apollo to right with fillet, reversed L behind, rev. naked horseman galloping to right, holding palm branch, below, C PISO L.F. FRVG, symbol I underneath, (S.291, Cr. 408, Syd. 851). Slightly off centred, otherwise brilliant with very high relief, good extremely fine and rare thus.
