Pontus, Amasia, Severus Alexander, (A.D. 222-235), AE 37, issued A.D. 205-6, (29.02 g), obv. laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, around AYT K **CEOYHROC ALEXANDROC*, rev. altar of Zeus Stratius surmounted by eagle, with wings spread and head left, above, Sol driving facing quadriga, holding whip and raising hand, tree to left, around **ADP CEY ALEX AMACIAC MHTR NE PR P* ET CKH across fields, (S.3275, BMC 40, Dalaison 576). Toned, traces of original silvering, good very fine - nearly extremely fine and a scarce type.
