Cilicia, Tarsos, Mazaios, as Satrap, (361-334 B.C.), silver stater (10.98 g), obv. Baaltars seated left, head facing; holding grapes, grain ear and eagle in right hand, sceptre in left; 'BLTRZ' in Aramaic behind, 'M' below throne, rev. lion bringing down bull to the left; 'MZDI' in Aramaic above, grain ear and monogram below, (S.5650, SNG Levante -; SNG France 350 var). Good extremely fine, and unpublished variety with the grain ear on the reverse.

Mazaios ruled Cilicia for 27 years, until just before the Macedonian conquest, later, under Alexander, he became governor of Babylonia.
