Peloponnesos, Elis, Olympia, 83rd-87th Olympiad, (c.448-432 B.C.), silver drachm 19mm, (4.91 g), obv. eagle flying to left, both wings flapping grasping a coiled snake with his talons right, with two countermarks to right, rev. F A either side of a Thunderbolt with volutes above and wings below, within incuse square, (S.-, Seltman, Temple pl. VIII, 13 [This Coin illustrated]; BCD Olympia 51 [(Leu 90 p.37]). Fine, extremely rare.
Ex CNG Triton XIII, January 5, 2010 (lot 2174 part) originally from the BCD Collection. previously from Glendinings Auction Sale of 20 June 1984 (lot 47). Lot includes collector's tickets and BCD tickets in a flip.
