Peloponnesos, Argolis, Argos, silver hemidrachm, or Attic triobol, 2nd century -80 B.C. (2.26 g), magistrate ZEU.., rev. forepart of wolf at bay to right, rev. large A with Z EY above eagle of letter below, all within shallow incuse square, (cf.Sear 2794, BCD 1144 [LHS 96], BMC 164 [p.140], HGC 5, 690 [S]). Toned, good very fine and very scarce.

Ex BCD Collection, CNG eSale 166, June 13, 2007 (lot 58), reverse die badly worn, from the same obverse die as BCD 1146, a triobol of the magistrate Damar., with BCD and CNG tickets.
