Thessaly, Larissa, (c.380-350 B.C.), silver drachm, (5.84 g), obv. the hero Thessalos to left with chlamys flying from him, restraining bull by hands his petasos falling to ground below, line border, rev. bridled horse prancing to left, **LARI/SAIA* above in two lines, (cf.S.2111, Lorber p.24 Group III L, Pl.IV,3, BCD Thessaly II 370.2 (same dies), HGC 4, 422 [same dies, R2]). Toned, very fine/ good very fine and very rare.
Ex CNG eSale 406, September 27, 2017 (lot 241) from the BCD Collection, previously bought in 1996 for 200 SFr. with CNG and BCD tickets and photos.
