Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.25 g), Teos mint, issued c.323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, palm with fillets to left, spear head in exergue, to right **ALEXANDR[OU]*. (cf.S.6730, Price 2259, BMC 2259, M.(564), SNG Cop.-, SNG Greece -). Toned, fine.
