Italy, Campania, Neapolis (Naples), (c.340-240 B.C.), silver stater or didrachm, (7.36 g), obv. head of nymph to right, X behind, rev. man-headed bull walking to right, crowned by Nike flying right above, below **Q, below exergue [NEOPOLITWN], (cf.S.307, Sambon 476, SNG ANS 368, [same dies], SNG Cop. 436 [same dies]). Attractive tone, off centred on the reverse, a superb eye, and obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and a scarce symbol.
