Group of Four: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Royal Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal ( GVR fixed suspender). 237368 J. Mc C. Earwood, A.B., R.N. on first medal, 237368 J. Mc C. Earwood. L.S. R.N. on second and third medals, 237368 J. Mc C.Earwood. L.S. H.M.S. Iron Duke. on last medal. All medals impressed. The second medal ribbon faded, all medals toned and the last with contact marks, otherwise fine - very fine.
James McCalmont Earwood, born 24Mar1891 at Wicklow; Enl.24Mar1909 straight from high school; served on various ships including on HMS Princess Royal (First Battle Cruiser Squadron) at Heligoland Bight, Dogger Bank and the Battle of Jutland; also served on HMS Cardiff during the Bolshevik Campaign.
