Sapper Albert Edward Simpson, concrete mixer, age 40, born 02Sep1900 at Seymour, Victoria; Enl.14Jun1940 at Caulfield, Vic; to Cookery Course at Maribyong 08Jul1940; rejoined 2/10 Fd Coy and graded Group II Cook 29Jul1940; Emb.03Feb1941; relinquishes trade Group II Cook at own request 28Oct1941; accidentally injured when truck he was riding on overturned 13Nov1941; captured in Malaya on 15Feb1942 and interned at POW camp at Osaka, Japan; he was repatriated and Disemb.13Oct1945 at Sydney, NSW; Disch.06Dec1945 as a Sapper ex 2/10 Field Coy.
