Group of Five: 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. First medal unnamed, NX161397 F.J.Hourn on last four medals. The named medals impressed. Some spotty toning on last three medals, otherwise good very fine - extremely fine.
Together with a framed (approx 29x41cm), illustrated and coloured The Call to Arms Certificate from the Mayor, Aldermen and Citizens of the Municipality of Marrickville named to Pte Francis John Hourn and dated 7 November 1941.
Francis John Hourn, boot maker, age 25, born at Cooma, NSW; Enl.23Jun1943 at Adelaide River, NT, in 14 Aust Ord Store Coy, with previous service (Enl.08Aug1940, N92600 at Area 53A Drill Hall, Marrickville) in 13 Aust Ord Store Coy; served in CMF 28Dec1941 to 22Jun1943 and AIF 23Jun1943 to 12Dec1945 with service at Morotai in Pacific 16Jun to 20Nov1945; Disch.12Dec1945.
