On 10 May 1952 Detective Sergeant 2/c W.D.Simpson, No.3505, Mt Isa, and Constable H.A.Hatten, No.4608 Duchess, granted a favourable record for the good Police work performed by them in connection with the arrest of Jerr Koci and Jonas Novotny, Czechoslovakians, on a charge of stealing a motor car, the property of the Estate of the late George Grantham, for the wilful murder of whom in the Northern Territory, Koci and Novotny were subsequently charged.
