William Hawthorn, bushman, age 23, born at Middlesbrough, England; Enl.10Dec1914 at Brisbane, Qld, with previous service of 6 months in Territorials with Field Artillery; Emb.09Feb1915; TOS 5LHR 07Jul1915 at Gallipoli; to hospital 28Aug1915 sick and rejoined unit 04Jan1916; tfr to Anzac Provost Corps 03Apr1916; various admissions to hospital from 03Jul1916 until invalided to Australia 22Jan1917; Disch.23May1917 Medically Unfit; Died 08Feb1944 at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown, Sydney.
