South western Britain, uninscribed issue, Durotriges tribal issues, Cheriton type, (c.57-55 B.C.), pale gold stater, (5.27 grams), obv. abstracted head of Apollo to right, rev. Celticized disjointed horse to left, crab below horse, (S.22, Mack Sylloge 33, Van A. 1215-1 notes as rare). Good very fine and rare.
