Caracalla, (A.D. 198-217), AE sestertius, issued 215, Rome Mint, (24.72 g), obv. laureate bust draped and cuirassed to right of Caracalla, around M AVREL ANTONI]NVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Aesculapius standing facing head to left, holding snake-entwined staff, Telesphorus at his feet to left, globe to right, around P M TR P XVIII IMP III, COS IIII P P, S C across field, (S.6933, RIC 538a, C.329). Attractive brown patina, good very fine and very rare in this condition.
