Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.16 g), Miletus mint, issued c.303 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, HP monogram to left, ME monogram below, to right **[A]LEXAND[ROU]*. (cf.S.6730, cf.Price 2127, BMC -, cf.M.775, cf.Thompson Miletus VIII, Nos.218-220, not noted in other references). Toned, very fine, rare.
