John, (1199-1216), silver cut half penny, short cross type, class Vb2, Canterbury Mint, moneyer Goldwine, (0.66 g), obv. crowned facing bust, two curls each side, beard of small strokes, five large pearls in band of crown, normal S with central pellet, [+HENRI]CVSR E[X] around, rev. short cross voided with quatrefoil in each angle, initial cross pattee, DWINE O around, (S.1351, N.970). Toned, nearly fine and scarce.
