Henry II, (1154-1189), silver penny, cross and crosslets (Tealby) type, Canterbury Mint, moneyer Ricard M, (1.50 g), obv. crowned bust facing wearing armour and mantle with sceptre in right hand, collar continued over shoulder, pellets down side, trefoil of pellets in angle, [+HENRI REX] around rev. large cross potent with small cross potent in each angle, in centre a small cross in saltire, +R D:M:ON CA, (S.1340, N958/1). Toned, obverse double struck, irregular flan, areas of flat striking, nearly fine and rare.
