Cnut, (1016-1035), silver penny, short cross type, Lincoln Mint, issued 1029-1035, moneyer Colgrim, (1.11 g), obv. diademed bust left with five horizontal folds and eight vertical pellets to drapery, lis-tipped sceptre before with no pellet on the shaft, +CNV T RECX: around and divided by drapery rev. voided short cross with large pellet in annulet in centre within inner circle (10 mm), legend +COLGRIM ON LINCO around, (S.1159, N.790, BMC xiv). Toned, good very fine and scarce.

Ex S.J.Green Collection. Previously Spink Auction 15006, lot 387. Possibly from H.R. Mossop Collection puchased by Baldwins in the 1960s. With ticket.
