Cnut, (1016-1035), silver penny, quatrefoil type, London Mint, issued 1017-1023, moneyer Bruninc, (1.05 g), obv. crowned bust left within quatrefoil, single band enclosing pellets to crown with triple trefoils above, four horizontal folds to drapery, +CNVT REX ANGLORV: around, rev. long cross voided on well defined broad quatrefoil with pellet at apex of each cusp, each limb terminating in three crescents, dividing +BRV NINC: ONLV NDEN (NC ligated) around, (S.1157, N.781, BMC viii). Toned, double struck on obverse, good very fine and scarce.
