Aethelred II, (978-1016), silver penny, long cross type, London Mint, moneyer Brunstan, (1.13 g), obv. bare headed bust left to edge of flan, longer hair made up of 17 strands, pellet behind neck, five horizontal folds to drapery, no inner circle or sceptre, +AEDELRAED REX ANGLO (NG ligated) around, rev. voided long cross with pellet in centre and triple crescent ends, additional pellet in 4th quarter, divides +BRV NSTA NM'O LVND around, (S.1151, N.774, BMC iva). Toned, small flan, peck marks nearly very fine and rare.
