Group of Four to KIA France: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Coronation Medal 1911. 3075 Pte F.G.W.Pownall 10/Bn A.I.F. on first medal, as T-Cpl on second and third medals. First to third medals impressed, last medal unnamed. Trio court mounted, last medal with ribbon and brooch mount, very fine.

Enl.14June1915 Keswick, Sth Aust; Emb.Adelaide 14Sep1915; to L/Cpl 10Apr1916; promoted Temp.Sgt 01Aug1916; Relq.temp rank to L/Cpl 03Aug1916; KIA 23Aug1916 Mouquet Farm Pozieres, France; commemorated at Villers-Bretonneux, France.^^Awarded the Coronation Medal 1911 for singing at the Coronation of King George V. As one of the children of the Chapel Royal he sang solo in the death chamber in Buckingham Palace of King Edward VII, 1910. ^^With research including photocopies of letters and newspaper clippings.
