Trio to POW KIA: 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45. All medals un-named. Court mounted for display, extremely fine.
Together with Memorial Scroll named to Driver C.W.Coombes Royal Army Service Corps; Imperial Japanese Army Service des Prisonniers de Guerre cards (4) all addressed to Mrs C.W.Coombes, 50 Warwick St, Walsall, Staffs, England; two letters from The War Office, dated 6th March 1945 and 24th November 1945, confirming that T/168726 Driver C.W.Coombes is presumed to have died when the ship in which he was travelling as a prisoner of war was sunk on 12th September 1944. It is consequently recorded officially that Driver Coombes is presumed to have been killed in action at sea.
