Persis, Kings of, Darius I, (2nd century B.C.), silver drachm, (4.06 g), obv. Darius head to right with short beard, wearing satrapal head-dress surmounted by a crescent, rev. fire-altar with super structure as stepped battlements Ahura-Mazda hovering above, king standing to right, bird perched on standard, Aramaic legend in exergue, (S.6196, BMC 12 [p.205, pl.XXXI, 5]). Good very fine and rare.
Ex Dr L.J. Sherwin Collection from Spink Numismatic Circular April 1992 (item 1665) described as Vaderadad II and by others as an uncertain ruler.
