Sasanian King, Kavad I, first reign (A.D.488-496), silver drachm, (3.98 g), probably ShI = Shiz, obv. mural crown bust to right with crescent above forehead, star upper left, rev. fire altar with attendants, with flames above, with star and crescent either side, (cf.Sellwood Plate V, No.51, Gobl 185 type II/I, cf.SNS 525, M.1000). Very fine, grey patination.
