British War Medal 1914-18 to DOW. 2128 Pte T.Bohane, 52 Bn A.I.F. Impressed. Toned, good extremely fine.
Together with two of each oxidised bronze titles for 4 5 2 Inf, i.e. 4/52 Inf (2).
Thomas Bohane, labourer, age 30, born at Mitchell, Qld; Enl.01Apr1916 at Mackay, Qld in 4Rfts 52Bn; Emb.16Aug1916; to France 12Dec1916; TOS 52Bn 19Dec1916; to hospital with trench feet 16Apr1917; rejoined unit 07Sep1917; WIA in Belgium and died same day 18Oct1917 and buried at Zonnebeke, Belgium; body along with several others exhumed and reburied in graves in a Divisional Collecting Post Cemetery Extension and as the individual bodies exhumed could not be identified the cross over each grave bears the individuals name and the inscription, 'Buried near this spot'.
