Imperial Service Medal, (GVIR Fid:Def:), with pin-back suspender. Daniel Doyle. Impressed. In Royal Mint case of issue, this with foxing on lining, the medal nicely toned, a few short scratches on obverse, otherwise extremely fine.
Sergeant 2 Class Daniel Doyle, Queensland Police, awarded Imperial Service Medal on 1 November 1949 'for many years of diligent and faithful service'. Presented by the Governor of Queensland, Sir John Lavarack KCMG, KCVO, KBE, CB, DSO, at a ceremony held at the Police Depot on 14 March 1950.
Daniel Doyle, farmer, born 18Jun1896 at Queensland; at age 26 joined Queensland Police Force 11May1923 as Constable; to Sgt 2/c 09Apr1942; served at various stations including Roma Street Depot, Moorooka, Maytown, Cairns, Rewan, Capella, Cloncurry, Clermont, Rockhampton, Mackay, Yaamba, Muttaburra and Maryborough; superannuated from Maryborough as Sergeant 2/c as from 17Apr1949.
