Trio: War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45; Netherlands, Commemorative War Cross. 402724 E.H.Brown on first two medals, last medal unnamed as issued. The named medals impressed. The first two medals without ribbons and both have some contact marks, otherwise very fine - extremely fine.

Edwin Hanlon Brown, bank clerk, born 09May1918 at Toowoomba, Qld; Enl.14Oct1940 at Sydney, NSW, with two years service in militia with 25Bn; served with No.18 (Netherlands East Indies) Squadron 16Feb-11Mar1943; Died 05May1943 as Flying Officer piloting a Spitfire in air ops 4 miles north of Algiers.

Awarded a DFC for completing 62 sorties displaying great skill and determination. This was amply demonstrated one day in April, 1943, when he successfully accomplished a reconnaissance flight over Naples and the adjacent area in the face of heavy and accurate fire from ground defences.
