Nero, (54-68 A.D.), AE quadrans, Rome mint, issued AD 64-65, obv. NERO CLAV CAE AVG GER, owl standing facing, wings spread, on garlanded rectangular altar, rev. P M TR P IMP P P, upright olive branch, S C across fields, (S.1985, RIC 319, C.185, BMC 288). Delightful dark earthen patination, about as struck, extremely fine and very rare in this condition.
