Description

Peloponnesos, Elis, (Olympia), silver hemidrachm, (412 B.C.), (2.82 g), Hera mint, issued in the 92nd Olympiad in 412 B.C. obv. head of Hera to right, wearing stephane rev: F - A across the flaming thunderbolt (bundle of lightning) all within olive wreath, (S.2879, BCD 74 [Leu Numismatik 90, May 10, 2004 [same dies], BMC 66, SNG Cop.383, SNG Berry 842). Only one other example published from the same dies and and that came from the BCD Collection), toned, almost good fine, and extremely rare.
