1893 Proof Shilling, Victoria, 1837-1901. S-3940, ESC-3155, Davies 1011 (Dies 2 A) (R). 5.66g. Edge straight-grained. Obverse - Old veiled bust by Thomas Brock with veil partially covering a coronet, T.B. below truncation. Large letters 1st I of VICTORIA to gap between denticles. Reverse - Heraldic design similar to the florin with the three shields now individually crowned within the garter with floral emblems in between. Crosses form the stops in the legend . + ONE + SHILLING + . and are made from five beads, and the lower date + 18 (garter) 93 + Beautiful golden iridescence, gem FDC and rare.
