1887 Proof Double Florin (Four Shillings) Rare Close 7 in Date variety, Victoria, 1837-1901. S-3923, ESC-2698, L&S 98, Davies 541 (R). Encapsulated PCGS as PR66 CAM. Obverse - Joachim E. Boehm's Jubilee bust with small crown and veil, J.E.B. on truncation. Reverse - Arabic 1 in date; close 7 in date. Crowned cruciform shields Garter star in the centre four sceptres featuring symbols for the three kingdoms, i.e. England (sceptre with a cross), Ireland (harp) and Scotland (thistle). Golden grey brown toned brilliance, gem FDC and rare.
