1831 Pattern Crown, William IV, 1830-37. S-3833, ESC-2460, L&S 3. (R4) Davies-301. 27.94g. reverse struck en medaille Obverse - standard design except for engravers surname W. WYON. in relief on truncation. Reverse - Similar to the two sovereigns but with less ornamentation, comprising a square crowned shield of the Royal arms on an ermine mantel. This mantle is tied with tasselled cords on each corner. Beneath this is the collar and badge of the order of the garter. The date ANNO 1831 is separated at the base by St George. Full attractive light grey toning, brilliant unmarked plain egde proof FDC and extremely rare, one of the finest known.
