Description
1831 Proof Half Sovereign, William IV, 1830-37. S-3830, W&R 267 (R3) 3.97g. Obverse - the legend reveals a misplaced double entry for the first I in IIII. This flaw is also observed in the Maundy 4d obverse, confirming a die linkage (same master tool) between the two coins. Reverse - as for one sovereign in reduced scale. Only one or two hairlines, full cameo proof FDC and very rare.
