DIAMOND JUBILEE - P. T. WIMBLE AND CO. LTD.
Sixty years ago when the population of Australia was not much more than of the City of Sydney to-day - Mr. Fred T Wimble established the business of manufacturing printing ink in Australia. He was the pioneer of the industry in the Commonwealth, and the business today extends to every part of the Southern Hemisphere. The May issue of "Wimble's Reminder" is the diamond jubilee number, and contains an interesting account of Mr Wimble's early difficulties and of the development of the business he established. The son and grandson of printing ink manufacturers, Mr Fred T. Wimble arrived in Australia when 21 years of age "with an ink-manufacturing equipment that could have been carried in a carpet bag of the period" and today, at the age of 82 years, he continues to direct the extensive business which he founded. The diamond jubilee number of the "Reminder" is a splendid issue, and the examples of colour and black and white printing reveal the perfection reached in the art of printing. The publication deals also with the latest developments in the manufacture of printing machinery, and contains a number of articles of interest to all branches of the craft.
