Maximian, as Augustus, first reign (A.D. 286-305), AE follis, Trier mint, issued A.D. 296-7, (10.98 g), obv. laureate head to right of Maximian, around IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, rev. around GENIO POPV LI R OMANI, Genius standing to left, holding patera and cornucopiae, in exergue TR, A - **G* in field, (S.13238, RIC 170b, C.159). Extremely fine, with much silvering.
